    Hiking

A 2-hectare disused limestone quarry and nature reserve.

The site was quarried from the 17th century until the 1920s on the Duke of Newcastle's estate. A private branch of the Chesterfield Canal (the Lady Lee Arm) was built to transport the limestone.

Managed by the Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, the quarry is partially flooded to form a shallow lake. It features rich wildlife, including great crested newts, dragonflies, diverse spiders, and a large variety of land snails.
