The port of Norddeich mainly serves the ferry and freight traffic to the East Frisian islands of Juist and Norderney. It is after Puttgarden and Rostock, the third largest passenger port in Germany and the largest in Lower Saxony. Every year, around 2.5 million passengers pass from here to the islands of Norderney and Juist. In addition, 175,000 vehicles are transported per year to the island of Norderney, which is approached every hour in the summer. In total, around 11,000 scheduled services per year are offered to both islands (Wikipedia).
