The Serpentine River winds through Serpentine National Park, joined along the way by Gooralong Brook as both waterways cut through the jarrah forest and granite country of the Darling Scarp. This great timber footbridge makes it easy to cross the river here, replacing an older crossing whose remnants you can still spot nearby. Downstream, the river opens onto the wider valley, eventually reaching the popular swimming spot at Serpentine Falls.
