Near the small village of Niedergesteln, there is an inconspicuous sign to the Jolischlucht. A deep, steep rock crevice through which water flows. You can enter without restriction and climb up the riverbed as far as your courage takes you, until debris blocks the way. It is shady and cool, especially recommended on a hot day trip.
The village next to it, with its old haylofts and log houses made of red-weathered larch wood, is definitely worth seeing!
