Today's town hall was built in Art Nouveau style in 1914 as the county hall of the then Hoya district. In the same place, probably since 1708, stood the town's Ratskeller, where all the important decisions in Hoya were made and which held the monopoly for serving wine, beer and brandy.

The two-storey, plastered building in Art Nouveau style with the dominant four-storey baroque gable projection with the portal and framed by two bay windows on the upper floor and the mansard roof was built in 1914 as a district vocational school and was used as a school until the 1970s/80s.The Hoya Town Hall in Hoya, on the Schloßplatz on the Weser, was built at the beginning of the 19th century. The building that characterizes the district was previously the district vocational school.de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rathaus_Hoya

Quite ok for a break with a tour of the city. The town hall wouldn't be a highlight for me now.
