Hiking
The Basilica of San Lorenzo in Doliolo houses the mortal remains of Saint Philomena, Saint Hippolytus, and Saint Justin. Currently (August 2026), the church also houses the city's patron saint, San Severino, who has been temporarily relocated here during the renovation work of the Old Cathedral in the upper town. According to tradition, the church was built by Basilian monks in the 6th century on the ruins of the 2nd-century temple of the goddess Feronia. The current building dates from the 14th century. Artistic highlights include the frescoes by the Salimbeni brothers.
