Mount Takane (Takane-yama) near Fujieda is 871 meters high and a popular hiking destination in Shizuoka. The ascent leads through dense forests and past the traditional Takane-Hakusan Shrine. The summit offers a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains. The tour is technically uncomplicated but requires some stamina on the steeper sections. The connection with the Tōkai Nature Trail is particularly appealing.
