Weipert Church
Completely forgotten today, the place where a pilgrimage church once stood is "incredibly old," said Matthias Elm. In 1127 a place "Zum Hain" or "Zum Hagen" was mentioned for the first time. The district covered about 70 hectares and lay on an important connection between Fulda and Hammelburg. According to Elm, the former place was "by no means insignificant, but rather comparable to Schondra". The dimensions of the choir tower church, eleven meters wide and 24 meters long, underline the importance of the place "Zum Hain".
