The Kornati Islands, also known as the Kornati Islands (Croatian Kornatski otoci or Kornati, Italian Isole Incoronate) are the largest and most dense group of islands in the Croatian Adriatic. They consist of around 150 islands, islets and rocky cliffs and comprise around 12 percent of all Croatian Adriatic islands. The Kornati are karstified and only sparsely overgrown. The largest of the islands is called Kornat and gives its name to the archipelago, the administrative center of the area is on the island of Murter. Part of the archipelago has been protected by the Kornati National Park since 1980.
