Giffin Park is an unassuming sports ground that has a surprising past. Before it became home to Australian rules football, the site spent almost 60 years as a racecourse, first as Coorparoo Racecourse from 1891, then Kempton Park Racecourse until 1950. Today, it’s home to the Coorparoo Football Club and hosts many of the Queensland Australian Football League’s premier division Grand Finals, and once also served as a training and home ground for the Brisbane Lions.
