Hiking
Mineral springs emerging from iron bicarbonate-saturated earth create a very special spectacle here. When the water comes into contact with oxygen, the iron oxidizes and precipitates as rust. The result is a landscape that is almost reminiscent of a science fiction film – vibrant orange and crimson against grey rocks and green mountain meadows. The effect is strongest in the morning light and when mist hangs over the valley.
