Bach House Eisenach

Many impressions and experiences from his childhood in Eisenach accompanied Bach throughout his life: his parents' house, which served as the town piper, the traditional Latin school with its student choir in the old Dominican monastery, the Georgenkirche with its organ, the town hall with the tower brass.

The Bachhaus Eisenach is a museum in Eisenach, Thuringia, dedicated to the composer Johann Sebastian Bach, who was born there. In it, around 250 original exhibits, including a Bach autograph sheet music, are shown on an exhibition area of 600 m². The core of the museum, which today comprises several buildings, is an approximately 550-year-old half-timbered house (Frauenplan No. 21), which was incorrectly identified as Bach's birthplace in the middle of the 19th century. In 1907 the Leipzig New Bach Society set it up as a memorial and Bach museum.

Karlsplatz is located in the east of Eisenach's old town. It is part of the area monument of the old town of Eisenach. The Löbersbach, which crosses the square, was channeled and partially vaulted in the second half of the 19th century.
