East Hill is located above Okehampton on the northern border of the national park. It's the most northerly section of moorland in Dartmoor. As such, it provides exceptional views over Mid Devon to Exmoor National Park.

There's a trig point on top of East Hill. On its eastern side is an ancient settlement high above the gorgeous West Cleave. The Tarka Trail runs along the valley floor next to the East Okement River.

East Hill boasts spectacular views over the patchwork landscape. Close to the summit, the remains of a Roman fort are still visible and the legendary Fitz’s Well — a stone cross that marks a freshwater Spring that supposedly saved a couple from a pixie spell — is also close-by.
