"Ofrende" (often also called "Offer" after renovation) is a well-known bronze sculpture by the Danish artist Peter Brandes located on the central market square in Grenaa. It was inaugurated in 1995 for the city's 550th anniversary and depicts a kneeling figure with a bowed head, referring to the Old Testament motif of the near-sacrifice of Isaac by Abraham. The artwork is intended to encourage passers-by to reflect on innocent victims in their stressful everyday lives. The sculpture is a popular and sometimes controversially discussed photo motif in the middle of the pedestrian zone.
