Walking on Flat Rock Beach is best when the tide drops, the sand packs down firmly into a wide, flat walkway. It is perfect for walking barefoot, walking, jogging, or beachcombing at the water's edge. There are also dark, smooth, volcanic rock shelves along the beach, which hold tide pools. Be careful if choosing to walk on the rocks, as they can be quite slippery if wet or covered in green moss.
