The north pond forms the northern half of the Kings Heights loop, with paved paths tracing the shoreline and connecting the surrounding neighbourhood. Originally built for stormwater management, the ponds also provide habitat for waterfowl and other local wildlife. During the winter, when conditions are suitable, they become designated outdoor skating rinks, making this a popular spot to enjoy the season in a different way.
