The Tramline Trail is a peaceful, well-signed forest route from Lake Louise Village to the lakeshore, following the old CPR tramway line used between 1912 and 1930. It’s a great way to reach Lake Louise without the parking chaos, with Louise Creek nearby and a quiet mid-route view of the Chateau and Victoria Glacier.
This is also a grizzly bear corridor, so carry bear spray and watch for “Bear in Area” signs, especially when berries are out.
