The lighthouse, built in 1902, at the western end of the Hallig, can also be seen quite well from the neighboring island of Föhr when the visibility is good.

A wonderful place to relax, especially when the day guests are back on the ferry.

When arriving by ferry or excursion boat, Langeness's only lighthouse is clearly visible from afar.

It is located on an uninhabited warf fortified with massive stones in the western part of the Hallig and is easily accessible from the Rixwarf on a hiking trail. The first part of the path is asphalted, then you continue on foot across the salt marshes to the lighthouse.

The tower is 11.5 meters high, the height of the light is 13 meters above MTHW.

Although it is called the Langeness lighthouse, the managing shipping office in Tönning calls it the Nordmarsch lighthouse.

Built in 1902, it was so badly damaged in World War I in 1926 that cracks appeared in the walls and it was heavily tilted. It was not until 1953 that repairs began and the tower was covered with a reddish-brown brick facade, but it is still slightly crooked to this day.

The lighthouse is a listed building but cannot be visited inside. Nevertheless, the trip there is definitely worth it because it offers a unique view of Langeness and the surrounding Wadden Sea. In addition, you are almost always alone there with yourself and the wind, water and the unique world of a Hallig.
