Porcupine Walking Track is a 5.7-kilometre Grade 3 return that follows Rock Creek before climbing through snow gum woodland into the alpine zone, at nearly 1900 metres. It’s a well-formed track that opens up to meadows dotted with colourful, seasonal alpine wildflowers, including billy buttons and paper daisies, before reaching the granite outcrops of Porcupine Rocks, with sweeping views of the mountains and the valley. In the winter, the route is buried under snow and becomes part of Perisher’s cross-country ski and snowshoe trail network.
