The Siles reservoir collects the waters of the Guadalimar River, one of the main tributaries of the Guadalquivir. Its construction began in 2007 and ended in 2015, with the aim of regulating the river's flow, reducing the risk of floods, and ensuring resources for the supply and irrigation of the region. The dam, 52 meters high and 271 meters long, can store 30.5 cubic hectometers of water and is one of the most modern hydraulic infrastructures in the province of Jaén.
