However, rarely does a sign so accurately reflect the difference between the map and reality. Just a few meters ahead, forest rangers informed us that access was closed due to stabilization work on the landslides caused by the heavy rains of recent months. There was no possibility of continuing.

I confess that for a few seconds I felt that small disappointment that accompanies deferred dreams. But I soon understood that the mountain was not closing the way for us; it was simply telling us to come back another day. And, deep down, few excuses are as good for returning to a place that still has an unfinished story with you.
