Fort Pickering Light is also known as Winter Island Light. It's a lighthouse that was built in 1871 and worked until 1969 when the coastguard deemed it unnecessary. The locals re-lit it and funded it from 1983.

Winter Island Maritime Park is a 27-acre beachside park with paved paths, beaches, and the Fort Pickering lighthouse. The park encompasses this small peninsula with great views out onto the water.
