The garden of triangulation represents a part of the historical triangular network of the Württemberg state constitution. The basis of the survey is the precisely measured Solitude Alley. Nice rest area with a small wooden hut and view of the ContainerUmschlagBahnhof of the Deutsche Bahn AG.

The Solitudeallee leads directly past the “Garden of Triangulation”. Apart from the name, almost nothing remains of the ducal street between Solitude Palace and the Ludwigsburg Palace. And even that is wrong: The 13-kilometer-long Solitude-Allee, sometimes a dirt road, sometimes a thoroughfare, has long ceased to be an avenue - a road without trees, a good 250 years after the straight connecting axis was created. Today it is a 13-kilometer-long cultural monument. In 1820 it served as the base line for the first Württemberg state survey: The starting point of the base line was in Solitude Castle (memorial plate to visit), at the end point in front of the then Ludwigsburg city limits, the mathematician and astronomer Johann Gottlieb Friedrich von Bohnenberger had a wooden pyramid built from which one had the necessary view. Since 1998 the "Garden of Triangulation" has been describing the measurement methods of the Tübingen professor.

Exciting place that makes you look at the landscape with completely different eyes. My favorite stone there is the one for the Hesselberg. I have not been there for a long time
