The area around the Höllfall is designated as a natural monument and European protection area at the same time and is fed by the water of the Großer Kamp. which plunge into the gorge in a cataract several hundred meters long. The river bed itself is totally blocked by mighty rocks. At low tide, the Grosse Kamp "hides" between the rocks.

This place is truly beautiful. Especially in spring after the snowmelt, when it gurgles and bubbles particularly loudly and you can't see the stream because it's hidden under the rocks.
