During the week it is usually rather relaxed in the area and in 'bad weather', luckily there are water-shy people :).
The Berlin Wall Trail runs along here and reminds us of those times. History was and is written here.

The reflections in the glazing are very nice to look at and offer fascinating motifs.

The environment is nice, but the Federal Chancellery would not be my destination for the weekend ...

Jan - for a legislative period I could already imagine the Federal Chancellery as a goal 🤓

Popularly called "washing machine", it is the largest government headquarters in the world - for example, 8 times the size of the White House ....

Great architecture. The entire area in the government district can be explored on foot or by bike.

In my opinion, Helmut Kohl's washing machine is anything but beautiful. This whole government bar on the Spreebogen is a single catastrophe made of steel, a lot of glass and a lot of concrete.
Designed by the architects Axel Schultes and Charlotte Frank during the term of office of Chancellor Helmut Kohl and built from 1997 to 2001, it was ready for use by Chancellor Gerhard Schröder on May 2, 2001.

An imposing structure, certainly an eye-catcher on a boat trip or a walk along the Spree, but it doesn't have to be an extra destination.
