The small fort belonged to the Saalburg as an outpost. The way there with the crosser is difficult, the view is impressive.

The name "Heidenstock" shows that the small fortification was anchored in the minds of the local population for a long time. The name is based on the false assumption that the remains of the wall are a customs post of the pagan Romans.
