A unique heathland nature reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest made up of several commons, separated by the A272 east of North Chailey and Beggars Wood Road, which links the A272 with the A275 to Lewes. Beggars Wood Road, in particular, is a lovely rolling section of highway that weaves round a few gentle bends. Occasionally cattle, ponies and sheep that graze on the common wander onto this section of the road, between the cattle grids.

A beautiful and serene place without much traffic. But don't go too fast as there are cows by the road and they do have long horns. Sit back on your saddle and enjoy the scenery
