The marketplace of Bernkastel with its half-timbered houses lining it makes you feel transported back to the Middle Ages. Beautiful and worth seeing, including the Renaissance town hall from 1608, the St. Michael's Fountain from 1606, and the much older "Spitzhäuschen" from 1416.
