Eyeworth pond was created to supply water to the factory. You can just about make out the factory from the road but it is private now. Even so the area around the pond is really lovely & the pub is just up the road

The factory was hidden deep within the remote woods of the New Forest for a very practical reason: explosions. If a processing shed blew up, the surrounding dense trees and isolation would absorb the blast, protecting nearby villages. At its peak in the late 19th century, the site grew into a massive industrial operation featuring over 60 buildings, its own electric lighting, and a workforce of over 100 people.
