Mount Sonder is a popular day hike and the destination for those on the 221-kilometre Larapinta Trail. Many hikers choose to start around 3-3:30 a.m. in order to arrive intime for sunrise, but sunset is also nice. If it's not too hot late morning and late afternoon work as well. Keep in mind it's often windy and much colder here than where you start the hike, so bringing an extra layer is a good idea.
