Günz is an old monastery estate of the monastery St. Annen and Brigitten in the nearby Hanseatic city of Stralsund.
Here, the estate complex with the so-called "new" manor house, the "old" manor house and outbuildings has been preserved, but the buildings are in a desolate state. The "new" manor house depicted here was built at the end of the 19th century, the old manor house around 1802. The last tenant of the estate, which also included a mill farm, was Ernst Wolfstein. He specialized in sheep farming and maintained a flock of 950 animals.

The manor house is currently in its slumber. The impression comes from the unused waiting for new owners and is nourished by the huge blackberry hedge, especially visible in picture 5. I deliberately photographed it.
