Every year, the Spielmannszug Südlohn builds a maypole in the south-east town center. The maypole is stocked with signs from the southern tradesmen. As a rule, the installation is done at the end of April. The tree will remain until about mid-October. Throughout the summer, the tree draws attention to the complexity of the Südlohner businesses and beautifies the town center.
