The fountain on the market square was designed by the artist Wilhelm Löber (1903-1981).
The fountain shows three leaping fish, with water pouring from their fish heads onto a water column. The fish symbolize the former basis of livelihood, fishing.
The motif is also found on the Barth coat of arms, which features three fish.
