The first nine deceased prisoners were buried in the local cemeteries of Rodingersdorf and Maigen near Sigmundsherberg. For all others, the specially built camp cemetery was already available. According to the memorial stone, more than 2,400 soldiers (of whom 2,363 were Italians) were buried on the graveyard, which is now off the route of the Kaiser Franz Joseph Railway. In addition, other numbers circulate, in about the same order of magnitude.
