The Resistance Monument of Anloo in the Evertsbos forest honors the place where resistance fighters went underground during wartime: in a hideout hidden in the dense forest. At this spot, on the cycle path between Kerkweg and Eexterweg, a memorial has now been established with large stones for 13 fallen resistance fighters. Three men who hid here were executed in Westerbork, ten others were killed in their hiding place in April 1945.
The hiking route through the Evertsbos forest, marked with yellow arrows, also passes this secret hideout. The hike is historically extremely interesting.
