Elsewhere the ducklings swim on the water, in Stolpe brightly painted pigs loll around in the water of the village pond and cause laughter among holidaymakers and locals. The idea is related to the 800th anniversary of the community.
The monogram SaU was developed from the initials of the community “Stolpe auf Usedom”. In 2018 there was a small festival to mark the local jubilee, at which residents made pigs out of fiberglass. Three sows and eleven piglets were donated to the community.
