In Mersch stands on the Kronenberg (lux Krounebierg) an obelisk, which is to display the center of the Grand Duchy. Built as a national monument to celebrate the centenary of Luxembourg's independence, it was demolished during the Second World War and rebuilt after the war. A section of the original monument (in the form of a pillar) can still be visited on the spot.
In Schönfels is the castle of the same name, which belonged from the 16th to the 18th century of the Palatinate-Luxembourg noble family Schliederer von Lachen.
