Saigon's Central Post Office (Bưu điện Trung tâm Sài Gòn) is located directly opposite Notre-Dame Cathedral and is one of the most magnificent examples of French colonial architecture in Vietnam. The building was constructed between 1886 and 1891. Contrary to popular belief, the design is by Marie-Alfred Foulhoux, not Gustave Eiffel (although the style strongly resembles Eiffel's iron structures).
