Easily accessible on the hiking trail from Zella-Mehlis to Suhl, which starts on the southern outskirts of Zella, 500m south of the Zella-Mehlis train station, on Dörnbachstraße and leads upwards southwest into the forest.
After about 1000m, this path joins the old trade route coming from the northeast, and the route of which is about 170m to the next crossroads.
Here the stone stands in the north-east corner of the crossroads in the forest, about 80m west-southwest of the crossroads, 50m from the path.
