In the partially backfilled quarry, tectonically stressed gneisses are exposed in the area of the Danube fault zone. Here, the pearl gneiss is largely mylonitized and transformed into Winzer gneiss. Fold patterns in the decimeter range are visible on the quarry wall. Further evidence of tectonic stress includes strong jointing, armor-like surfaces, and sheared areas.
