The natural monument is a high cliff above the Yarshevka River near the village of Polochany. It represents a cross-section of sandy deposits formed by glacial meltwater 220,000 to 150,000 years ago. The riverbank is covered by coniferous forest, and the steep slope is not stabilized by vegetation. The outcrop is of significant geological significance.
It is located 1 km northwest of the village of Polochany (Volozhinsky District), on the left bank of the Yarshevka River.
