When Prince Kazimir Sangushka owned Rakov, in 1735 they began to lay the foundations of a brick church next to the wooden one. It was built as a Greek Catholic church. The construction dragged on for many years until 1793. It is interesting that the Rakov Spaso-Preobrazhenskaya Church was never closed. Today, the Spaso-Preobrazhenskaya Church is a rectangular temple. On the southern side, it is adjoined by the Nikolskaya Chapel, where the altar is located, and on the northern side, the sacristy.
