The White Temple is a private artwork created by the artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, who also designed the clock tower in Chiang Rai. The figures with their hands symbolize the depiction of hell. White is the traditional color of mourning in Thailand. The temple's white color is enhanced by inlaid mirror fragments.
