Hidden in the mountains of Corsica are many simple rock caves that once served as shelters for Corsican shepherds. Far from the villages, they lived here during the grazing season, storing cheese and provisions and seeking refuge from the wind and weather. The rugged stone walls tell of a hard daily life lived in close connection with nature.
