ATTENTION - CLOSED
The site was closed on August 23, 2024, following a landslide that killed 13 people, including two Russian tourists and nine workers from Myanmar. The disaster exposed illegal construction in the surrounding area, and the Royal Forestry Department imposed 25 conditions for reopening.
A legal battle ensued. Tensions between local authorities, the temple foundation, and the affected families delayed the work for months. The site finally reopened in January 2026, but only briefly… currently, everything is closed again.
