The temple's actual name is Wat Chaiyathararam.
Locals and many Thai tourists come here to pray and pay their respects to the revered monks who founded Wat Chalong. Among them are Luang Pho Cham and Luang Pho Chuang, two monks who led the citizens of the Chalong subdistrict in the fight against the Chinese uprising in 1876 and helped the wounded with their knowledge of herbal medicine.
