800 years of silver, lead and zinc mining on the South Tyrolean Schneeberg, the longest-producing ore mine in the Alpine region. Today a unique visitor mine!
Hordes of miners extracted valuable silver, lead and zinc under the most extreme climatic and working conditions. After a glorious history, the mine closed its doors in 1985. Today, as a show mine, it offers unique and practical insights into ore mining then and now.
