You can lie on the grass or sand and enjoy the view of the Havel. However, it is not a place for those who like peace and quiet (at least in summer)! The place is well visited and there is almost constant noise from party boats.

Schildhorn is a promontory in the conservation area Grunewald in Berlin Grunewald district of the district Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. The approximately 110-meter wide peninsula protrudes about 400 meters into the Havel and forms a small bay, the Jürgenlanke.

It still exists, but has largely been forgotten. The column also called "Schildhornkreuz" symbolizes the Schildhornsage from the 19th century to the Slavic prince Jaxa von Köpenick, who is said to have fled here in 1157 in the founding year of Mark Brandenburg before Albrecht the Bear through the Havel. Out of gratitude for his salvation, Jaxa professed Christianity and hung his shield and horn on a tree. Since then, the headland is called Schildhorn.
