The "Rooster" Pond in Kalisz is a circular, historic pond located in the City Park, established in 1843. It was created as a result of water regulation works, with water piped from the Prosna River. The pond's name comes from a tin rooster statue once placed on a gazebo on an island in the center of the reservoir. The pond is a permanent feature of the park landscape and has served as a recreational area since the 19th century.

The pond was excavated in 1843 and fed by an underground pipe from the Prosna River, featuring a small central island connected by an ornate bridge and originally topped with a wooden gazebo crowned by a tin rooster figure - giving the pond its name ("kogutek" meaning "little rooster"). Throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries, the pond served as a popular social venue for theatrical performances, summer gondola rides, and winter ice skating accompanied by military orchestras.
