Lunar Crater was probably formed by a volcanic explosion and is about 360 feet (110 meters) deep. There is no trail, but you can walk cross country around it, but a little climbing is required around the dry river bed. There is a lot of desert wildlife like tarantulas, horned lizards and lizards. Lunar Crater was used to test the Mars Rovers and to train astronauts.
